Excellent post, Nikos. The translation seemed to work well, particularly your comparison of the earth being unable to sweat off it's fever because it's landscapes have been denuded. I hadn't yet heard it put so succinctly.
This is an excellent overview of a complex subject. Bravo. I strongly support the idea of a conference. Let me add one note of optimism: As soon as one starts to restore ecosystems, nature will amplify those efforts, and we will begin to see improvements within days. Eco-restoration is a healing process. We don't have to wait for the job to be done to live better.
Nikos, thank you so much for writing this! When I first read your sentence, "Climate change is a symptom of the mismanagement of natural ecosystems," I thought, YES, YES. And then, I started revising your idea...to include others (which you also address). I'm now playing with this sentence: "Climate change, loss of wildlife habitat and degradation of public health are consequences of misuse of natural ecosystems." THEN, What first steps can we take to use natural ecosystems respectfully?
Thank you too Katie for expanding on this! It is my first attempt to post something here, and did it quickly in Greek, considering to translate the text in English at some point. But it's a pleasant surprise, that language in not a barrier to communication anymore!

Thank you Rob! I’m glad the translation works. I’ve also posted an edited English version. Your work and posts are always an inspiration.

Thank you John, I totally agree with you on the one note of optimism!
